Upcoming courses

The Yale New Haven Center for Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response is developing additional online courses on emergency preparedness topics for the health care delivery workforce. Our courses are created with support from the Health Resources and Services Administration and the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

Radiation Basics for Health Care (EM 110)

This 30-minute introductory course is designed to provide the general health care workforce with accurate information about the possible risks associated with common sources of radioactive substances. Also included are recommendations for ensuring personal health and safety around these substances on a day-to-day basis, as well as during emergency situations. The course provides a brief overview of the psychological issues associated with radiological emergencies and outlines coping strategies for health care workers during and after a radiological crisis.
